Enquiries about all of the following services will be treated confidentially:

The Information Service

Patients, their carers and relatives can find up to date information about how they cope with the practicalities surrounding their illness.

We also offer resources that are of help to those who are bereaved.

If we can’t help we are happy to signpost you to services that are more suited to your needs.

You are welcome to come along without a formal appointment and talk to one of the Information Officers or volunteers at the drop in service, between 9.00am and 5.00pm Monday to Friday. If you work Office hours and this time is not convenient please phone or email and we will arrange an alternative.

The Counselling Service

We offer a professional counselling service to anyone who feels that Counselling can help put sorrow into words. Everyone will be offered an initial consultation so that they can decide if Counselling is right for them. Sometimes that first appointment is enough to help people understand the situation they are facing.

Support Services

Sometimes it is difficult to cope alone and a listening ear can still be helpful even though someone chooses not to have one to one counselling. The Linden Centre offers a range of other services, including formal and informal groups where there is the option to meet others in the same situation.

Our “companion” volunteers are available to spend time with anyone who needs informal support on a one-to-one basis. They will get to know you over a period of weeks and will work hard to understand how the illness or loss is affecting you personally.Photograph of the Ivy covered Linden Centre building
