ROBERT HODD STUDY CENTRE FOR PALLIATIVE CARE STUDIES

The Robert Hodd Study Centre opened in 1992. Since then it has gone from strength to strength, with increasing numbers of Health Care workers and Allied Health professionals accessing training.
It is associated with the University of Central Lancashire & Lancaster University.

The staff at Trinity provides a specialist service to a population of 340,000 people. We have a responsibility to cascade our specialist skills down to our generic (generalist) colleagues. Palliative Care goes on in varying degrees in all care settings not just the hospice setting. District nurses, care home staff, people working in the acute District General hospital as well as local hospitals all want to provide as good care as possible for their patients.

To that end our aims and objectives are:-

    1. To ensure that those attending increase their Palliative Care knowledge & skills for the benefit of all patients with advanced disease and not just those with cancer.
    2. To incorporate all members of the Multi Professional team in the learning process.
    3. To provide a varied & inter active program that keeps all professionals up to date with the rapidly changing face of 21st century Palliative Care.

The Robert Hodd Study Centre can cater for physically disabled students and also has a hearing loop system

For those accessing full study days special catering needs can be accommodated.

Also we have a superb specialist Palliative Care Reference Library.
